We Explore Earth is a nonprofit rooted in conservation and creative nature experiences, serving the BIPOC community and beyond, creating space for those looking to begin or elevate their outdoor journey.

Hike Schedule & Elevation Progression:
All hikes take place on Saturdays, except for the last one on May 25th . Start times listed below & full info will be given in the officsl groip chat.
• April 5 – Mount Hollywood – Griffith Park | 700 ft gain | Start: 7:00 AM
• April 12 – Sandstone Peak | 1,354 ft gain | Start: 7:00 AM
• April 19 – Tongva Peak | 1,853 ft gain | Start: 7:00 AM
• April 26 – Strawberry Peak | 1,771 ft gain | Start: 5:30 AM
• May 3 – Timber Mountain | 3,333 ft gain | Start: 5:30 AM
• May 10 – Cucamonga Peak | 4,136 ft gain | Start: 5:30 AM
• May 17 – San Jacinto Peak | 4,353 ft gain | Start: 5:30 AM
• May 25 (Sunday) – White Mountain | 3,452 ft gain | Start: 4:00 AM - (For this final hike we'll be driving up May 24, camping out Near trailhead to hike on May 25th, then camping again + having a celebration dinner May 25th, so we wnco everyone to ask for work off on May 26th).
Note: All details are subject to change due to weather or safety recommendations by our hike leads.
This program is designed to progressively increase in difficulty to build strength and endurance. We begin with beginner-friendly hikes and end with the epic challenge of White Mountain, one of California’s tallest peaks.
Community & Group Chat Access:
Participants will be added to an official group chat upon sign-up. This will be the main space to receive full hike logistics, meet fellow participants, get updates from hike leads, and build community throughout the program.

Spots are limited (12 people per group x 2 groups with 2 leads per group)– sign up early!

What You’ll Need for the Hiking Program:
• Hiking Backpack (comfortable enough to carry water, snacks, and layers)
• Water containers or hydration bladder (2–3 liters minimum capacity)
• Active hiking gear (breathable layers, moisture-wicking clothing, proper hiking footwear)
• Hiking Poles (highly encouraged for stability on steeper or longer hikes)
• Hat & Sunglasses (sun protection is key!)
• Adventure Pass (required for parking at trailheads within Angeles National Forest – available at most REI stores)
• Reliable Transportation to all trail meet-up locations
• Note: Limited carpool opportunities may be available, but participants should plan to arrange their own rides
Additional Notes on Possible Expenses:
• Optional Tram Fee (San Jacinto Hike):
• We may choose to take the tram to access beautiful panoramic views and shorten the hike – details will be confirmed closer to the date.
• Camping Weekend for Final Hike – White Mountain:
• We’ll be camping together for White Mountain weekend, May 24–26.
• Participants will need a vehicle (or coordinate carpool/caravan with the group).
• Pitch-in funds for meals and group camp expenses may be requested (We Explore Earth will host the celebration dinner after the hike).
• More info on gear, carpool sign-ups, and camping logistics will be shared in the group chat.
Cancellation Poilcy:
A reminder of this unique cost effective hiking program experience we’re providing for you & the outdoor community. If you decide to cancel your hiking program spot, the following fees apply and are due to We Explore Earth at the time (prior to start of hiking program) we receive notice of your cancellation: = 100% of hiking program cost.
