2025 Early Childhood Conference @ Saint Mary's College

Building Bridges to Resilience is the theme of this year's conference.

Included in the cost of registration is a program folder, grab-and-go breakfast and access to the keynote and workshop sessions. To save costs and reduce paper waste, we will have minimal printed items available; however, handouts and digital resources will be available to view/ print prior to the day of the conference. Participants will also receive a certificate of attendance.

Sesión Magistral (en Español) – Construyendo Conexiones Fuertes: Fomentando el Aprendizaje Activo y la Participación en Bebés y Niños PequeñosPresentado por Elda Pérez

Apoyar el desarrollo integral de bebés y niños pequeños requiere que facilitemos de manera intencional y activa su juego, ampliando sus experiencias en todo el entorno de aprendizaje. En esta sesión, se modelarán y practicarán estrategias para extender la participación de los niños, promover el desarrollo del lenguaje y fomentar la perseverancia, todo a través del juego.

Resultados: Como resultado de este taller, los participantes podrán:

• Brindar apoyo individualizado para ampliar las experiencias de los niños y prolongar su participación.
• Utilizar estrategias efectivas para promover el desarrollo del lenguaje mediante el juego dirigido por los niños.

Keynote Session (Spanish) - Building Strong Connections: Fostering Active Learning and Engagement in Infants and Toddlers Presented by Elda Perez

Supporting the overall development of infants and toddlers requires that we intentionally and actively facilitate their play and expand their experiences throughout the learning environment. In this session, we will model and practice strategies to extend children's engagement, promote language development, and encourage persistence --all through play.

Outcomes: As a result of this workshop, participants will be able to:

● provide individualized support to expand children’s experiences and extend engagement.

● utilize effective strategies to promote language development through child-directed play.
