☾ FAQ:
- How long is the investigation? The investigation is about 2.5 hours long, from 9:30pm-12:00am. Guests may leave earlier, if desired.
- Is the investigation scary? That depends on your perspective! While we can't exhaustively anticipate all the experiences you will have on your own unique ghost hunt, we can say that, typically, you may expect to encounter unexplained phenomena such as cold spots, strange sounds, or a feeling of being watched. Some groups may experience more or less than this. If talking with "people from beyond the pale" is scary to you, then you may be spooked. However, we believe any entities present at the Woman's Club are largely friendly, and we prefer to think of the "hunt" as a respectful dialogue between the living and less-than-living. We will not tolerate guests who engage in behavior to negatively provoke any alleged entities in the home.
- Is the investigation just for "believers"? Nope! Whatever your stance is on "what goes bump in the night," we think you'll find the historical tales and potentially spooky encounters entertaining. We just ask that everyone acts with respect.
- Where do we meet? The gazebo at Overman Park. Check in with your host upon arrival. The tour will begin on time—latecomers will not be accommodated. We will walk over to the house together.
- Do I need to bring my ticket(s)? It is not necessary to bring a printed ticket. Upon your arrival, you will be checked in under the name used to purchase the ticket(s).
- Can I bring my own investigation equipment? Personal paranormal investigation equipment is allowed on the tour, provided it is small enough to fit in a pocket and is silent. Otherwise, please plan to utilize the tour guide’s equipment.
- Is there an age restriction? There is no minimum age for attendees, but think of the tour content as "PG-13." Each attendee must have their own ticket, regardless of age. Investigation activities and content will not change if minors are present. Tour hosts will ask attendees to leave at their purview if a guest is deemed disruptive—if the dismissed attendee is a minor, their guardian will be dismissed as well. Any attendees under 18 years old must be accompanied by an of-age guardian.
- Is the tour handicap accessible? Partially. The first and second floor of the Woman's Club will be open during the investigation, but only the first floor is ADA-compliant. Should a guest attend that is unable to access the second floor, we are happy to spend a bit more time on the first floor to make sure they are actively involved as much as possible.
- What should I bring? Wear comfortable walking shoes and weather-appropriate layers. The tour goes on rain, shine, or snow, and it can get chilly inside the Woman's Club at night (down to ~55 degrees). You may also want to bring a water bottle/non-alcoholic beverage and some snacks. No alcohol is allowed inside the Woman's Club during the investigation; any tourgoers not in compliance will be asked to leave.
- Are there any trigger warnings? Yes. This investigation may touch on any of the following topics: death, mental illness, suicide, domestic violence, substance abuse, racism. Additionally, while the investigation host will do their best to set expectations and maintain a respectful and calm environment, tourgoers are responsible for managing their own behaviors and emotions regarding any perceived interaction with the supernatural. Tourgoers engage in this investigation at their own risk.
- Are pets allowed on the investigation? No pets are allowed inside the Woman's Club. Licensed service animals are always welcome.
- Can I take photos? Absolutely! Who knows, you might catch something unexplained on camera. We just ask that you please do not take videos.
- Is there parking available? Yes, there is free street parking available on all sides of Overman Park and in some surrounding streets.
- Can I buy tickets to just THE INVESTIGATION? Yes, purchasing tickets to any of the other Cedar Falls Ghost Tour experience is not required to purchase tickets to THE INVESTIGATION.
- Do you take tips? If you enjoy the tour, tips are always very much appreciated! However, they are certainly not required.
