About the Dinner

The American Grown Field to Vase Dinner invites guests from across the nation to dine in some of America’s most stunning flower and foliage farms. This dinner tour is a series of gatherings showcasing seasonal blooms on beautifully designed tablescapes by top U.S. floral designers. Gourmet meals are prepared by renowned farm-to-table chefs who use fresh, locally sourced ingredients.

Since its launch, these dinners have garnered significant media attention, celebrating the heritage of America’s flower-farming families. In 2017, the tour received the Floral Management Marketer of the Year Award. It is organized by Certified American Grown, a non-profit association exclusively advocating for American flower and foliage farmers. Proceeds from the event support marketing efforts to preserve the heritage of American floriculture.

Meet flower farmer Mike A. Mellano of Mellano & Company, celebrating a century of heritage in the flower industry, while enjoying an artisan dinner surrounded by a stunning sea of ranunculus. This annual celebration dazzles guests, offering the unique experience of dining amidst a colorful ranunculus rainbow of The Flowers Fields at Carlsbad (Owned by the Ecke Family).

Your Experience

The Field to Vase experience begins with a welcome reception in the barn area of The Flower Fields, featuring a welcome drink and appetizers, celebrating the bounty of farming and culinary excellence in the region. Guests will sip drinks and nibble on delicious bites while enjoying a DIY Flower Bar, floral demonstrations, and mingling with fellow flower enthusiasts who share a passion for all things floral.

After the reception, guests will venture to a long table set among vibrant blooms, featuring innovative tablescapes designed by Native Poppy, a San Diego-based floral design team. Enjoy a multi-course artisan family-style meal expertly paired with local wines from South Coast Winery.

This sensational meal will be enjoyed in a stunning floral ambiance while gaining insights into the value of supporting American farms. Not only will you leave the dinner table with cherished memories, but you’ll also take home beautiful American-grown bouquets and other commemorative treats!
