Join us for an immersive poetry and art workshop hosted in our captivating gallery space. Our intention is to foster a sense of community, providing a platform for individuals to connect, delve into poetry within a supportive environment, and draw inspiration from the current exhibit.
📜 Ekphrastic Poetry Exploration:
Dive into the world of Ekphrastic poetry – where poems are written based on visual artworks! Dr. Marit Anderson will guide participants through an engaging workshop, inspired by the stunning visuals of each exhibit. Take this opportunity to craft your own poems about the artworks showcased. In the second hour, poems the participants wrote will be the inspiration for a collage artwork led by Cathy Carey, gallery director of Front Porch Gallery.

🕒 Workshop Schedule:

• 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM: Dr. Marit Anderson will lead an Ekphrastic poetry writing session, encouraging participants to channel their creativity into poetic expressions inspired by the mesmerizing pieces in the "Unveiling Creativity: Art as Conversation" show.
  
• 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM: Cathy Carey takes the lead in a hands-on collage-making session. Your written poems will serve as the muse for crafting unique collage artworks. Dr. Marit Anderson will remain present to provide assistance and further insights.

ABOUT THE EXHIBIT

"Surfing Madonna Save the Ocean 5 exhibit". A range of mediums are represented: collage, fiber, assemblage, and painting. During the run we invite the community to participate with us in thought provoking programs and events related to making art, discussing the work, and viewing the exhibition.
