2024 Workshop Series: Sugar Skull Workshop

Ages: 10+

Come spend some time with friends or family doing this traditional craft of Mexico to celebrate Dia de los Muertos! Calaveritas de azucar, sugar skulls, are made to remember and honor lost loved ones. You will be able to make one in memory of someone you have lost, honor an ancestor, or make one just for fun. Take it home to be used as a decoration in your home or on your altar.

You will paint with royal icing to add color and design to your sugar skull mold, and also use embellishments that evoke your spirit. As you work Leticia will teach you about the history of Dia de los Muertos and the tradiotional festivies of Mexico. She has many stories and a knowledge of Mayan history as well.

No experience needed, beginners welcome too!
