We are still very much in the planning stages but have worked out the date that we will be bringing a charity coast walk back to Newcastle!
Over the coming months we will be working out the finer details, but we can say now that we have already started sacrificing chickens* to the Weather Gods to ensure that the sun will be shining and the birds will be singing on that day.
We hope to get all the surf clubs of Newcastle involved, and to show your appreciation you'll be required to bring along a gold coin donation for each one as you pass by. This is not compulsory, but it is totally mandatory and you simply have to do it on the day.
We are still working out the fees required to put this on and will be working with both city councils and the worthy folk at National Parks for the privilege of walking through their lands. We are also going to look long and hard at the merch you'll get for your entry, but at this stage we are leaning towards caps rather than shirts for simplicity and to keep the sun out of your eyes.
Make sure you hit the GOING button rather than the MAYBE, even if you are only 83% you'll want to be part of this first innaugural event. We are not going to hold you to it and track you down if you are a no-show on the day, but it will help us gauge interest and assist us with forward planning.
