Join us for our 2024 INSPIRED Event, the annual Chrysalis fundraising luncheon supporting girls and women in our community. This year we present Alejandra Campoverdi, a nationally recognized author, women’s health advocate, producer, and former White House aide.
Recounting a life of contradictory extremes in her award-winning book, First Gen: A Memoir, Campoverdi shares a broad range of experiences ranging from being a child on welfare, a White House aide, a model, a Harvard graduate, a gang member’s girlfriend, and a candidate for the United States Congress. She also shares her journey through a double mastectomy as chronicled in the groundbreaking PBS documentary Inheritance.
Campoverdi examines the journey and emotional toll of being a "First and Only," delving into social mobility, generational inheritance, aspiration, and the true meaning of belonging.
Beaverdale Books will be onsite to sell paperback copies of her book, First Gen: A Memoir, which Campoverdi will be signing after the program. You will not want to miss her moving and powerful presentation!
