The 2024 George Gibson Lecture features Sigve Tonstad, MD, PhD. A distinguished physician, theologian, and scholar, he is known for exploring topics at the intersection of faith and science—including spirituality, ethics, and public health. He has authored numerous articles and books, including The Letter to the Romans: Paul among the Ecologists (2017, Sheffield Phoenix Press) and Revelation: A Cultural, Exegetical, Historical, & Theological Bible Commentary on the New Testament (2019, Baker Academic). Dr. Tonstad has taught as a professor in both the School of Religion and the School of Medicine at Loma Linda University. He is a sought-after speaker and educator who shares insights on the relevance of spirituality to healthcare and societal challenges. His talk, “Cain, Abel, and the Destruction of Gaza,” will take place at 7:00 p.m. on November 14, 2024, in Lang Auditorium, Krueger Center, on the campus of Union Adventist University.
