On Saturday, September 7th, the Anchorage Symphony Orchestra presents the 56th Annual Champagne Pops Gala: The Music of Tina Turner - a night that promises to be as dynamic and memorable as the icon herself.Don't miss your chance to experience the music that has inspired generations, Tina Turner's greatest hits, performed live. High-energy entertainment and soul-stirring performances will transport you through Tina's legendary career as the Anchorage Symphony, led by ASO Music Director Elizabeth Schulze, is joined by the extraordinary vocal talents of Nova Payton, LaKisha Jones, and Matthew Johnson. Payton, renowned for her powerful voice and stage presence, has wowed audiences in performances like Dreamgirls and Hairspray. American Idol fans may recognize Jones as a standout finalist with infectious charisma – she went on to perform with the Top 10 Idols on the American Idols Tour (and Champagne Pops fans will recall LaKisha's fantastic performance when she joined us in 2016 for Rock On!). Johnson, who has performed with many of the world's top artists, including John Legend, Jennifer Lopez, and Stevie Wonder, rounds out this powerhouse trio.
Funds raised at this gala event support the ASO’s Music for My Neighbors programs that include free tickets to ASO concerts, our free Neighborhood Concert, Family Concerts, free Coaching in the Schools for band and orchestra students, and free bus transportation for the students who attend our educational Link Up concerts each season.
