This is 2 short beautiful hikes to some spectacular frozen waterfalls...This is one event but 2 locations! Rated 2BSThis event is a little different with 2 short hikes on the same day.
Cline River falls- ( rated at a 2BS )that starts at the Pinto lake staging area Just off Highway 11 . We will do a short EASY walk through the trees to a steep ravine. It is steep to get down but just a short distance. In the summer this waterfall is a trickle, in the winter it is a stunning frozen masterpiece. We will walk down to the rivers edge and if safe to do so, walk closer to view the waterfall coming off the side of the canyon. Round trip is less than 3 km
B atus Canyon is a trail just down the highway with no formal parking lot. IT is a short 2 km round trip with deep canyons and frozen falls. There is one hill to go into the canyon but is very possible for the beginner hiker.
Traction aids will be provided if needed.
*I have lined up some shared accomodations in a large cabin in Nordegg (Natures getaway) No requirement to atttend all events on the weekend. DETAILS
