1st Thursday at the Studios is dedicated to advancing the arts and offering opportunities and media resources for artists to be seen and heard in a warm and welcoming space.March is COMEDY NIGHT! Whether you do comedy regularly or have always wanted to, this is your chance. Some comedy may be adult themed, best for 18 and over.
Doors open at 5:30pm. Refreshments provided. $10 suggested donation appreciated and goes to fund the series. Willamette Falls Studios is a 501c3 community focused television and media center. Performances will be filmed and unedited material made available to performers for free.
The show will include local favorites from Portland and fresh faces. See below for just a glimpse at some of them!
CHARLES GALLIA
Born in a two-story farmhouse in St. Helens, Oregon, that had running water, electricity, and heat. He attended local schools, and he will share a glimpse of what a product of Oregon public schools, Clackamas High School, and Portland State University can yield.
Those experiences shaped his life, but even after earning my PhD, he still felt a bit empty. So, he headed to NW Portland and took a comedy class. After an initial struggle, he was given the chance to retake it.
He brings this up because he thinks Oregon City, in particular, should be designated a 'humor desert.' Wit, satire, and clever one-liners are hard to find, yet 'dad jokes' are rampant. he says he's here to change that.
