ARTIST STATEMENT
My artwork is heavily influenced by music, specifically new generation rap music and artists. I’m moved by deep lyrics from artists like Kendrick Lamar and Baby Keem. The fashion shown in my work stems from artists like Tyler, The Creator and other trends that are often seen in mainstream rap. I draw inspiration from childhood cartoons like Spongebob which influences the bright colors I use. My artwork includes bright colors and hidden messages to create a story and add depth behind the characters. My pieces are first sketched with graphite then traced with micron pens. The drawing is then finished using alcohol based markers.
