“Honoring Seven Generations”17th Annual Community Day of the Dead Altar & Show.
*Opening: First Friday, Oct. 3rd 10:30 am-9:00 pm
Space in our Gallery is set aside for honoring our beloved
departed family, friends & pets, paying tribute to the
ancestors that came before us during this special time of
year. *Messages, plus offerings of flowers, photos and small mementos are welcome.*
Enjoy work by Local Artists and Specialty Artworks from the
U.S. and Fair Trade artisans featuring Sugar Skulls, Skeletons, Pets, Milagros, Virgin of Guadalupe, all decorated for Dia De Los Muertos, plus other supplies one might need to build their own altar/ ofrenda at home.
You’ll have an opportunity to participate in our Community Altar. Please stop by now through November 2nd to honor beloved departed family, friends & pets. Be sure and visit often and witness how the Community builds this altar as we honor our departed loved ones. Please come by during the next month and continue honoring those who have made it possible for us to be here today.
How it works:
Please take a few moments and think about your
loved one(s).
Next write their name and a short message on one of the blank
popsicle sticks and place it in one of the metal basins on the
altar. This is a simple and symbolic way of honoring those loved
ones who have passed. *these messages will remain on the altar
until the afternoon of November 2 (All Souls Day), at which time
they will be gathered and driven to Asilomar Beach to be read
aloud and then ceremoniously burned in a small fire there.*
*All are invited to share in the Closing Ceremony at Asilomar
Beach (on the side where small wood fires are allowed) in the
afternoon (5:00 pm) of November 2* this solemn event is held
in a sacred way to honor our departed loved ones.*
