Come laugh at your teachers - we promise you won't get in trouble!Come help us celebrate fourteen years of funny!
In 2011, The Laughing Academy founder Kim Greene Hiller had a hilarious idea to create a comedy club in the heart of Glenview... and 14 years later we're still laughing!
To celebrate our successful silliness, top instructors Tyler Fowler, Jimmy Carrane, Laura Hugg and owner Kim Greene Hiller will take the stage for a night of stellar stand-up sets!
PLUS - all former or current Laughing Academy students in attendance can put their name in a drawing to have their own five minute spot on the show!!
About the performers:
Headliner Tyler Folwer is fresh off his "My Mom Says I Can't Go" tour, where his witty and clean brand of stand-up has made him a favorite across the US at venues like Zanies and The Laugh Factory. His debut album Friends With 401(k) Benefits premiered #1 on iTunes and Top 10 on the Billboard Comedy Charts, and his Drybar Comedy special airs soon!
Groundbreaking comedian Jimmy Carrane has been performing and teaching improv for more than 30 years at places like The Second City, iO Chicago, and The Annoyance Theater. Host of his own celebrity-interview podcast, "Improv Nerd", he's also been seen on numerous TV shows and movies.
L aura Hugg performs at clubs like Laugh Factory, Zanies, Second City, shows and festivals throughout the country, and currently hosts Keep Coming Back, a monthly comedy variety show about all forms of recovery, at the Lincoln Lodge and Laughs on a Hot Tin Roof at the Five and Dime in Evanston.
Outstanding storyteller Monica Matsakis has been seen at The Moth, Truth Be Told, Story Lab, This Much is True and more. She is also a professionally trained actor, most recently appearing as Kate Jerome in Brighton Beach Memoirs at The Citadel Theater.
Kim Greene Hiller began her professional comedy career at The Second City Chicago, and went on to perform and write at Second City Detroit, as well as teach classes at the Second City Detroit Conservatory. She was a member of Annoyance Theater's mainstage improv troupe Screw Puppies, made regular appearances with long-form improv groundbreakers The Free Associates, and acted in a wide range of industrial videos, voice-overs, and commercials. The one frontier she hadn't conquered was stand-up which has been remedied this last year with classes at her own studio, The Laughing Academy.
