Society of Saint Mary of the Snow is the oldest mutual aid society in New York. Founded in 1888 by immigrants from Sanza, Italy, we organize a yearly feast honoring Our Lady of the Snow, our town's patron saint. This rich tradition dates back to 900 AD, and we have celebrated the feast in Williamsburg, Brooklyn for over a century. Please join us for nine evenings of music, food, fun and celebration!
August 5th is the Feast Day of Our Lady of the Snow! Our celebration begins early in the morning with the feast day ceremony at 8:30 AM. We then begin the procession to Saint Francis of Paola Church - Divine Mercy Parish at 219 Conselyea Street, Brooklyn, NY 11211 for a special mass at 10 AM. We then host a parade through the streets of Williamsburg, returning to our hall around 1:30 PM.
The evening festivities kick off around 8:00 PM with refreshments, games, music, and raffles.
