About this Event

Whether it’s your first or fiftieth visit to New York City, we want you to enjoy your visit and take advantage of opportunities to socialize with other AEU members. We are offering a few pre-assembly activities that include an official tour of Lincoln Center, a NYC Bike Ride Tour, an evening Broadway Show and tours of the New York Society for Ethical Culture. These activities must be reserved and paid (if applicable) in advance.

Pre-Assembly Events

NYC Bike Tour (rentals available day of) on Thursday, July 23rd at 11:00am.

  • The tour led by Stan Horowitz (PES) and David Vasser (NYSEC) is free, BUT you will have to pay for your bike rental (approx. $30) if needed the day of the event. You will meet at NYSEC first and then walk to the nearby bike rental location. The bike ride will be approximately 8 miles and will pass by some historic sites associated with the Ethical Culture movement and other NYC highlights. There will be stops for pictures and breaks!

Broadway Musical: on Thursday, July 23rd at 7pm.

  • Meet in the lobby of NYSEC at 5:30pm to head down to Times Square and the Schoenfeld Theater to enjoy a Broadway Musical. We currently have 15 reserved group tickets, but if demand is high we will secure more. We will either take the subway down ($6 roundtrip) or share Ubers depending on the group the day of.

Official Lincoln Center Complex Tour on Friday, July 24th at 2:15pm.

  • Participants will meet Howard Rose in the NYSEC lobby at 1:45pm to walk a block over to the Linoln Center to meet NYSEC Board Member and official Lincoln Center docent Barbara Carlsen. This walking tour lasts 75 minutes. Regular stops along the Lincoln Center Tour (varies depending on the day) but might include: New York Philharmonic (David Geffen Hall), The Metropolitan Opera (Met Opera House), New York City Ballet (David H. Koch Theater), the Lincoln Center Theater (Vivian Beaumont Theater) and more.

NYSEC Building Tours on Friday, July 24th at 3:30pm and 4:30pm.

  • This is a free tour led by NYSEC members. Highlights will include Adler Hall, the Elliott Library, the Adler Study and more with information of the building history, artwork, and its many artifcats along the way. Each tour begins in the NYSEC lobby.
