What is the 5 Day 11+ May Half-Term Course?
The 5 is designed to identify and address any gaps in knowledge as children prepare for their upcoming 11 Plus entrance exams. Delivered over five consecutive days, the course focuses on key topics and common sticking points in Maths and English, helping pupils consolidate learning and strengthen exam technique.
By the end of the course, your child will have had the opportunity to develop greater familiarity with the demands of the 11 Plus and practise a range of question types used by exam boards such as ISEB, GL, CEM and ATOM.
At 11 Plus London, we recognise that every child learns differently. While the course follows a structured programme covering the most frequently examined topics, tutors also work closely with pupils on an individual level to assess strengths and areas for improvement. This allows teaching to be adapted where needed and provides valuable insight into each child’s progress.
Parents receive detailed feedback on their child’s performance throughout the course, along with clear recommendations and next steps to support continued progress and help each pupil reach their full potential.
How is the 11+ May Half-Term Course structured?
Our May Half-Term Course will take place over 5 days, in line with the school holidays. This allows you to make the most of your child’s half-term break, giving them the opportunity to continue their learning in a way that is more suited to those planning to take their 11 plus examinations in the coming year.
The week is split between the three elements of the 11 Plus exams:
Maths: (operations, key topics, shapes, problem solving, puzzles and statistics)
English: (creative writing, inference, spag, figurative language, creative comprehension/analysis and exam technique)
Reasoning: (Verbal and non-verbal reasoning)
You can book the entire week or book full days focusing on Maths, Reasoning or English.
The lessons have been created by 11 Plus experts and taught by an experienced team of specialised tutors who have dedicated years to preparing students for their entrance examinations. Despite being an intensive week of learning, classes are taught in an enthusiastic and engaging manner. This allows your child’s half-term to be fun-filled yet challenging, allowing you to take full advantage of the school holiday. Class size is limited, with a 7:1 student-to-tutor ratio to ensure focused and effective learning. All learning materials and assessments included in the course are provided by us, as well as homework for your child to continue their learning at home.
At the beginning of our May Half-Term Course, your child will take mock examinations in Maths and English. These will be marked in line with the standards of your prospective schools and a detailed report will be provided with our feedback at the end of the course. Parents often find this the most valuable aspect of our courses as it provides you with exceptional insight into their child’s performance and sticking points, as well as seeing how they progressed over the week’s lessons.
Who is the 11 Plus May Half Term Course for?
The 11 Plus May Half-Term Course is designed for children in Year 5. Whether your child has been preparing for the 11+ over a longer period or has only recently begun, the course is suitable for pupils at all stages of their entrance exam journey.
To ensure every child gains maximum benefit, pupils are grouped according to year group and ability. This course is particularly well suited to Year 5 students preparing for grammar school or independent school 11+ entrance exams.
If your child is currently in Year 4 and preparing for the 11+ exams, we recommend enrolling in our 10+ courses, which are specifically tailored to this stage of preparation.

(Tuesday and Wednesday is dedicated to English/ Thursday and Friday is dedicated to Maths / Saturday is dedicated to Reasoning)

Tuesday to Friday 10.00am – 3.30pm AND Saturday 9.30am – 1.30pm

Each course differs and focuses on a different set of skill sets that will greatly benefit your child in exams and in later life. We recommend your child repeat our 11+ courses at different dates in order to cover everything necessary for the 11+ exams.
Additionally, we provide 1 Day topic-specific crash courses for deep dives into key areas. These include Maths (maths word problems and maths puzzles), English (creative writing, comprehension, creative comprehension/creative analysis) and reasoning (non verbal, spatial reasoning and verbal reasoning).
