100 Year Miles Davis Celebration - with Jazztrix

2026 marks 100 years since the birth of jazz innovator and trumpet player Miles Davis. Jazztrix will present a tribute to Miles at Spectrum Theatre on Sunday 16th of August 2026.
The 100 year celebration will include a live performance of the best-selling jazz album "Kind of Blue" in its entirety, followed by a selection of a wide range of pieces from Miles' artistic journey.
"As a jazz trumpet player, Miles Davis' music has had a tremendous influence on my playing," said Jazztrix' trumpet player David Rastrick, who shares a birthday with Miles Davis. "Miles adaptability in style and and intensity in playing have been contributing factors in me developing my own musical voice."
Ever changing to suit the mood of the day, Miles Davis was at the forefront of several movements in jazz, from Bebop to cool jazz and modal jazz, free-jazz, jazz-rock-fusion, third-stream and Doo-Bop.
Jazztrix will feature trumpet player David Rastrick, alongside Grant Moulden, upright bass, Lauchlan Gillett - drum-set, and Ross Dwyer - jazz guitar, and special guests...
