10/18 Autumn Fungi Focus: Maitake & More (Raleigh)

Let's go for a hike while will we work on how to identify different culinary fungi and discuss their nutritional values. Some things we may find on our forage adventure are Dryad's Saddle, maitake, chicken of the woods, shaggy stalk bolete, indigo milk caps, Oyster Mushroom, Deer Mushroom, and Wine Caps.

NO BATHROOM ON SITE

Bring a basket, trowel, knife, and any other tools for gathering fungi, water and bag lunch.

*Must wear BRIGHT ORANGE or REFLECTIVE clothing / hat*
