🔵 Chúng ta là ai phía sau cái tên, công việc, tín ngưỡng, quốc tịch và các danh tính xã hội?
Xưởng thực hành chuyên sâu chỉ trong một ngày này khám phá phương pháp "Lạ-hóa bản thể" (Othering the Self) như một phương thức sáng tạo để thấu hiểu bản sắc thông qua lịch sử, văn hóa, di sản, triết học và trải nghiệm sống. Bằng cách bước ra ngoài những tự sự quen thuộc, người tham gia sẽ học cách quan sát bản thân từ cả vị thế người trong cuộc lẫn người ngoài cuộc; qua đó nhận diện cách bản sắc liên tục được định hình bởi ký ức, địa điểm, ngôn ngữ, vật thể, nghi lễ, các mối quan hệ và lịch sử tập thể.
Thông qua quan sát, đối thoại, vẽ, lập bản đồ, viết và thực nghiệm vật liệu, người tham gia sẽ chuyển hóa các suy ngẫm cá nhân thành truy vấn nghệ thuật. Xưởng thực hành khuyến khích người tham gia chất vấn các định kiến được thừa hưởng, đồng thời khám phá những góc nhìn mới về bản thân và người khác thông qua thực hành sáng tạo.

🔵 VỀ NGƯỜI HƯỚNG DẪN
Giáo sư Narendra Raghunath
Nghệ sĩ, Nhà thiết kế, Nhà giáo dục, Nhà nghiên cứu
Tốt nghiệp Đại học CEPT (Centre for Environment Planning and Technology University, Ahmedabad), ông hiện đang theo đuổi thực hành nghiên cứu chuyên sâu về sinh thái học, văn hóa vật thể, tâm thức và thực hành nghệ thuật thông qua các nghiên cứu điền dã dài hạn tại vùng Tây Ghats, Ấn Độ.
Trong hơn hai thập kỷ, ông đã giảng dạy các chương trình đại cương, cử nhân và thạc sĩ về nghệ thuật đương đại, tư duy thiết kế, văn hóa thị giác, nghệ thuật truyền thông, lịch sử nghệ thuật & kiến trúc, thực hành cộng đồng và triết học Ấn Độ.
Thực hành nghệ thuật của ông bao gồm hội họa/vẽ, sắp đặt, nghệ thuật dấn thân xã hội (socially engaged art), các dự án cộng ứng (participatory projects) và tác phẩm phản hồi bối cảnh/địa điểm (site-responsive work). Các triển lãm của ông từng ra mắt tại SWAB Barcelona, Dubai Art Fair, Milan Affordable Art Fair, Lalit Kala Akademi, Chitrakala Parishath, các Hội chợ Nghệ thuật Gwangju & Busan, và Đại học Công nghệ Vienna, cùng nhiều sự kiện khác.
Các xưởng thực hành của ông kết hợp truy vấn nghệ thuật với triết học, sinh thái học, di sản, văn hóa vật thể và thực nghiệm sáng tạo; khuyến khích người tham gia tương tác phản biện với bản sắc, địa điểm, ký ức và xã hội thông qua quá trình sáng tạo mang tính phản tư và hợp tác. Thông qua các bài viết, bài giảng công cộng và nghiên cứu, ông cổ vũ sáng tạo như một phương thức để thấu hiểu các mối quan hệ đan cài giữa con người, văn hóa, lịch sử và môi trường.

▫️ Vui lòng mang theo bình nước cá nhân (nếu có) và không mang các đồ nhựa sử dụng một lần tới không gian workshop để cùng chung tay bảo vệ môi trường. Thư viện có trà nước miễn phí tự phục vụ.
▫️ Sự kiện sẽ được tư liệu hoá dưới dạng hình ảnh và ghi âm, phục vụ cho mục đích lưu trữ, nghiên cứu, khảo sát, quảng bá… của tác giả và Heritage Art Space. Khi tham gia, khán giả đồng ý cho phép Heritage Art Space (và tác giả) được quyền sử dụng hình ảnh, ý kiến của bạn để làm tư liệu cho chương trình.

🔵 Who are we beyond our names, professions, religions, nationalities, and social identities?
This one-day intensive workshop explores "Othering the Self" as a creative methodology for understanding identity through history, culture, heritage, philosophy, and lived experience. By stepping outside familiar narratives, participants learn to observe themselves as both insiders and outsiders, revealing how identity is continuously shaped by memory, place, language, objects, rituals, relationships, and collective histories.
Through observation, dialogue, drawing, mapping, writing, and material experimentation, participants transform personal reflection into artistic inquiry. The workshop encourages participants to question inherited assumptions while discovering new ways of seeing themselves and others through creative practice.

🔵 ABOUT THE FACILITATOR
Prof. Narendra Raghunath
Artist, Designer, Educator, Researcher
A graduate from Centre for Environment Planning and Technology University, Ahmedabad, he is currently pursuing a research based practice investigating ecology, material culture, consciousness, and artistic practice through long-term field research in the Western Ghats of India.
For over two decades, he has taught foundation, undergraduate, and postgraduate programmes in contemporary art, design thinking, visual culture, media arts, history of art and architecture, community practice, and Indian philosophy.
His artistic practice spans drawing, installation, socially engaged art, participatory projects, and site-responsive work. His exhibitions include the SWAB Barcelona, Dubai Art Fair, Milan Affordable Art Fair, Lalit Kala Akademi, Chitrakala Parishath, Gwangju and Busan Art Fairs, and Vienna University of Technology, among others.
His workshops combine artistic inquiry with philosophy, ecology, heritage, material culture, and creative experimentation, encouraging participants to engage critically with identity, place, memory, and society through reflective and collaborative making. Through his writings, public lectures, and research, he advocates creativity as a way of understanding the interconnected relationships between people, culture, history, and the environment.

🔵 NOTE:
▫️ This is a non-profit event. All participant contributions will be transferred to the artist in full immediately after the workshop concludes.
▫️ Please bring your own reusable water bottle (if possible) and help us reduce the use of single-use plastics during the workshop. Complimentary tea and drinking water will be available for self-service at the library.
▫️ The workshop will be documented through photography and audio recording for the purposes of archiving, research, evaluation, and promotion by the artist and Heritage Art Space. By attending, participants consent to Heritage Art Space (and the artist) using their image and comments as documentation for the program.
