This 1 to 1 course concentrates on the art of hand stitching the traditional way: 2 needles, 1 thread, a stitching awl and clams.
This is ideal if you want some 1 on 1 tuition to really concentrate on nailing and learning the technique.
You will learn:
- Single handstitching.
- Double handstitching.
- Stitchmarking.
- Thread preparation & different threads.
- How to use the awl correctly.
- Using stitching clams.
- How to start and finish off.
We will start with learning and the use of the tools and threads. We will then work on practice pieces and then move onto a small project such as a Spectacle Case, keyring, coin purse, etc. If you have your project idea in mind please get in touch with me before hand to discuss.
You will leave with hands on practice and hopefully a mind full of ideas and hands itching to get stitching!
This is suitable for both total beginners and those who already know the basics wanting to advance or perfect their skills.
All tools required are supplied for your use and you will also leave with notes to take away with you.
