1-Day Meditation Retreat in Miami

Physician & wisdom teacher Dr. Frank Anderson leads a Mindfulness-based silent retreat in the heart of South Beach at the beautiful Miami Beach Women's Club.

If you've never experienced a 1-day meditation retreat, this day is designed to gift yourself an opportunity to awaken to your own mindful awareness perspective and experience the Peace, Joy, Love and Compassion that can change the world.

If you're a seasoned meditator, this day will bring you deeper into the space within, amongst your local meditation community, and re-inspire your own practice while inspiring others.

How it works // Participants maintain silence for the majority of the day, in a supportive group container. Guided and silent meditations with the four foundations of mindfulness lead to a deep sense of mindfulness awareness and intimacy with the present moment, beyond thoughts, to awaken to a place of authentic and ever-present peace, joy, unconditional love and compassion.

The structure of the day includes:

• Sitting meditations (with instruction)
• Walking meditations
• Periods for reflection
• Mindful eating practice (bring your lunch)
• Morning and afternoon wisdom talks
• Time for questions and answers

All levels are welcome. No prior experience is necessary.

⭐️ Who: Dr. Frank Anderson is a seasoned meditator, teacher, and academic physician, certified as a meditation teacher through Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach’s Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program. He has incorporated mindfulness and mindful awareness concepts into medical student and physician education, co-founded a community mindfulness group called Open Mindfulness Meditation, and is the creator and co-host of the Exploring Awareness podcast. He is currently a professor and chair of the Department of Humanities, Health, and Society at Florida International University's Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine.
