Ride Details: It's the PedalPGH 25 mile practice ride! With PedalPGH taking place on 8/24, we're hosting a practice ride for our WMNBikePGH community. If you've never ridden PedalPGH and are curious, this is the group ride for you.
This ride is an intermediate-friendly on-street ride. It is a 23-mile loop with 1,000 feet of climbing. If you are uncomfortable riding on the street or climbing hills, this may not be the ride for you.
We'll follow a route closely based on the 25 mile PedalPGH route and explore a ton of Pittsburgh neighborhoods and see some of our city's best bike infrastructure. We will make two brief stops for breaks.
Come prepared! Pack everything you need to ride comfortably and maintain your energy - snacks, two full water bottles, sunscreen, etc.
***Ride Route: Please review the route ahead of time so you feel comfortable and prepared --> https://ridewithgps.com/routes/49886389
Some might call our rides C pace, we ride at a pace of 8-10 miles per hour.
This is a no-drop ride, meaning no one will be left behind, and we will frequently regroup. There will be a ride leader, sweep, and marshals to ensure the group stays together and is safe.
🚲 Requirements: Be sure to do a bike safety check before heading out with the ABC Quick Check (bikepgh.org/2019/02/13/video-how-to-do-an-abc-quick-check/)
Rides will happen rain, snow, or shine! Lightning / thunder / blizzard or other extreme weather will result in the ride being canceled.
~
If you've been waiting for the chance to get active on two wheels with a group of friendly and welcoming cyclists, these rides are the ticket for you.
BikePGH's Women & Non-Binary program was created to break down barriers to bicycling and increase the representation of people who have historically marginalized gender identities. The program is inclusive of women, trans and non-binary people, genderqueer, agender and gender variant folks, as well as those whose gender identity falls outside of the dominant conceptions of gender.
