Elle nait parfois d’un petit rien, d’un geste du quotidien, d’une voix, d’un regard. Le désir se fixe sur une seconde, un détail. Il grandit d’un trop plein ou d’un manque, et il est inarrêtable, immaîtrisable. Il s’immisce dans les corps, dans les rêves et aucune volonté n’y peut rien. Le désir dépasse, obsède, transgresse. Il prendra dans cette partie de cycle, une forme surnaturelle chez Hardwicke, explorera les lenteurs et les silences de la vie quotidienne chez Akerman, approchera une intimité presque documentaire chez Simon et flirtera avec les incandescences chères à Almodóvar. Chantal Akerman disait : « sans qu’on le veuille ni ne le prévoie, le réel parfois nous gâte » et le cinéma fait de son mieux pour le retranscrire.
