π JULY IS OUR MUTUAL AID FUNDRAISER! π€²π½
~ Where Hope Begins ~
For the full month of July, the Whittier Indivisible Chapter will be raising funds and supplies for a good cause! Join us in this community effort to support women and children who have suffered from domestic violence, and have now found refuge at the local Women's & Children's Crisis Shelter. ALL contributions will be donated to the WCCS at the end of the month, and we will host an in-person drive in Michigan Park, on Saturday, July 25th, from 9:30-11am. We hope you can join us!π
π Here is the Shelter's Wish List for your shopping convenience! Please bring what items you can to the in-person event. https://www.wccshope.org/home/wish-list/
If you are not able to join us in-person for the event, you can still contribute to the fundraiser by contributing here: https://secure.actblue.com/donate/indivisiblewc1368840224.
π More About the WCCS: Womenβs & Childrenβs Crisis Shelter is committed to providing safety, shelter, and hope to victims of domestic violence. We believe that everyone has the right to a violence-free environment; that violence, be it physical, actual or threatened, emotional or psychological, has no place in healthy relationships. We are dedicated to helping the victims at whatever stage they find themselves.
This a local, in-person Indivisible event to the City of Whittier.
*A core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.*
