💜 The Follow Empowerment Workshop is open to everyone (follows/swaps/leads) but it has been built specifically for follows. We’ll take real-life anonymous experiences (both positive AND negative) and create a game plan that works for you in case you find yourself in this position. This workshop is for dancers of absolutely all levels, whether you’ve just joined our incredible Darwin Latin Dance Community, or you’ve been here since the first social. We’ll discuss the skills needed to keep yourself safe and you’ll learn techniques to better advocate for yourself on the social dance floor.
My qualifications:
📚Bachelor’s degree in Interpersonal Communication
🫂Been in this community nearly 5 years and dancing interstate/overseas for most of that time.
👩🏫Building a business to be a workshop facilitator (this will be practice for me!)
💃Primarily a follower
Notes:
🆓The workshop will be free of charge because I believe this info should be open to everyone.
🫙There will be a container for completely optional cash donations only to cover room hire/snacks.
👂Leads are encouraged to attend, but please note this will be more of a listening exercise for you.
Next steps:
✅ Mark yourself as “Going” if you plan to attend so I can get an understanding of accurate numbers. I won’t turn anyone away on the day, but I’d like to make sure I have enough resources for everyone.
