We hope you will join us for a SPECIAL 3rd Friday monthly gathering of Dances of Universal Peace at Unity of Madison in Monona.
The Madison Sufis are excited to host New Zealand guest leader, Nigel Hamid, for a collaboratively led evening of Dances.
Nigel Hamid has been leading the Dances of Universal Peace in Aotearoa, New Zealand for over 25 years and hosts monthly dances in Auckland. As a Kiwi (New Zealander), Nigel carries the transmission of Māori-inspired Dances of Universal Peace, which he will share with our community during this special evening of shared leadership, joined by his partner and leader, Helen Karuna.
The Dances of Universal Peace are a spiritual practice in motion. Drawing on sacred phrases, songs and poetry from many wisdom traditions of the earth, the Dances blend chants, live music and simple movements into a living experience of unity and peace. We dance to create peace within ourselves, our communities and the world. No experience is necessary; just an open heart, willing spirit and respect for the sacred space we create.
A free will donation of $10 (or more) is suggested, but first-time visitors are welcome to join us without making a donation.
We ask that you remain mindful of your health and please, do not attend if you are feeling ill or have a cold or flu-like symptoms. You are welcome to wear a mask. We will have hand sanitizer on site.
