🎶 West Coast Swing Lesson and Practice with Matt and Suzanne – Sheffield, 22nd February 💃🕺Join us for an exciting afternoon of West Coast Swing with the fabulous Matt and Suzanne — right in the heart of Sheffield City Centre!

Whether you’re brand new to dancing or simply curious about West Coast Swing (WCS), this beginner-friendly lesson and practice session will get you moving and connecting on the dance floor. Brand new dancers are very welcome.
Matt Brooke began his dance journey in ballroom and Latin, competing up to Gold Bar 3 and reaching open level in modern jive. He later discovered his passion for teaching and now runs his own West Coast Swing classes with Suzanne and Maddy. Suzanne started in ballet, returning to dance through Ceroc where she demoed and competed to open level. She now brings her love of smooth, structured West Coast Swing to the floor alongside Matthew.
✨ What to Expect in This West Coast Swing Class ✨
We’ll start together working on connection — the key to making everything feel good. Beginners build strong basics, while improvers and intermediates play with delays and hitches to add groove and control.
Then we split:
Beginners: Clear, confidence-building core patterns
Intermediates: Extended moves, rock-and-go variations, and a whip into block & redirect
We’ll finish with a quick mini routine to tie it all together, then a practice hour to drill, experiment, and just dance.
👉 Solid basics, cooler variations, and plenty of time to make it stick.
💃🕺Workshop Schedule
1:45 – 2:00 pm – Doors open
2:00 – 2.55 pm – Focus on connection with added content on delaying for improvers
3:05 – 4:00 pm – Split class covering the basics with beginners and variations for intermediates
4:05 – 4.25 pm – Joint mini-routine
4.30 – 5.25 pm – Joint practice session for all levels
