Join us for an afternoon that will fill your heart with harmony and holiday cheer!
Under the direction of Melody Zentner, the Durham Community Chorale proudly presents Music in the Heart — a celebration of music that brings people together, uplifts the soul, and captures the magic of the season.
Our program features a joyful mix of festive favorites, touching ballads, and lively gospel rhythms — from Broadway sparkle to heartfelt choral harmonies.
🎵 Program Highlights:
• I Will Light Candles This Christmas — a moving setting of a poem by civil rights leader Howard Thurman
• Winter, Fire, and Snow — inspired by Irish poet Macdara Woods
• Ain’t That-a Rockin’ — a spirited African-American spiritual
• This Christmas — the classic Donny Hathaway hit
• Believe — the Academy Award-nominated theme from The Polar Express
• God Rest You Merry, Gentlemen — in a fresh, rhythmic arrangement
• Christmas on Broadway — a joyful nod to our Chorale’s Carnegie Hall debut last spring
