The Mora Area Community Theatre will present FREE performances of a One-Act Collective.This is a series of 5-20min plays written by Mora locals Jess Patterson, Evangeline Rufner, and Shantelia Sauer-Dunn. The plays range from funny, to serious, to heartbreaking, there is a show in this collective for all viewers to enjoy!
3rd Hour Written By: Jess Patterson – A series of silly interactions between a teacher and her students. *No strong language. No mature themes.
Fractured Silence Written By: Shantelia Sauer-Dunn In Fractured Silence, characters grapple with the fallout of choices that can’t be undone. As relationships fracture and long-buried truths surface, each person must confront what remains when words fail — and silence takes hold. *No strong language. Themes of wrongful accusations/gaslighting, and incarnation.
Wrong Place, Wrong Time Written By: Evangeline Rufner and Shantelia Sauer-Dunn Set in a small town, an unlikely group of characters are brought to the same bar for different reasons. When the rehearsal demonstration of a clean energy reactor goes awry, they are forced to quarantine together. *No strong language. Themes of aggression, alcoholism, and offstage death.
There Was Love Written By: Shantelia Sauer-Dunn A young woman grapples with the decision of becoming a mother. Facing animosity from her husband, needed support from strangers and conflicting emotions within herself – our main character finds a love she didn’t know was possible, and a pain that feels impossible. *No strong language. Mature themes of child loss and marital conflict.
