Join Velvet Lotus Tattoo along with Swanky Bits Tattoo for the 8th annual Tats for Tots Fundraiser.
This year Velvet Lotus Tattoo is excited to have the artists of Swanky Bits Tattoo join in on raising funds for the Iowa City Holiday Toy Redistribution Project.
Tattooing will happen at BOTH tattoo studios from 11-6pm on a first come/first served basis. Designs available and at which studio will be posted the week of the event here in the event page and on each individual artists page.

Bring a high quality toy, or even a few of them that meet the Do’s and Don’ts found on the ICTR website under Toy Donations (http://www.ictoyredistribution.org/) and get 10%your purchase of a Velvet Lotus Tattoo or Swanky Bits Tattoo gift card. Please call the studio of your choice to arrange drop off and retrieval of your gift card.
Fundraiser backstory:
This fundraiser began 10 years ago when a social worker noticed some gaps in resources for families to access during the holiday season. Many of these resources have strict income guidelines, some have a chance of missed deadlines, while others ask for documentation which can be difficult to provide. This fundraiser aims to fill those gaps and ensure all families have access to happy holidays.
Velvet Lotus Tattoo became involved 8 years ago when Michelle, owner of Velvet Lotus Tattoo, realized she had a way to reach families in need while providing a keepsake to commemorate fundraising participants. Last year we grew and partnered with Iowa City Toy Redistribution, supported by the LENA Project and Antelope Lending Library to encourage mutual aid, community building and sharing. The project also helps reduce the amount of trash sent to landfills and increases community connections. This year we are delighted to be joined by Swanky Bits Tattoo in an effort to raise additional funds and provide a wider selection of tattoo designs.

“If you are looking to find affordable (free!) toy gifts, reduce consumerism and waste for the betterment of the planet or just want your gently used toys to go towards making a child happy this holiday season, IC Toy Redistribution is here for you.
