🌿 Volunteer Opportunity – Be Part of the Clarksville Walks Project!🌿

Thanks to a 25,000 AARP Community Challenge Demonstration Grant, made possible through funding support from Toyota Motor North America, our community is coming together to create safer, greener, and more welcoming streets around Moore Magnet Elementary School, Veterans Plaza, the Montgomery County Public Library, and the Ajax Turner Senior Center.
This project is powered by volunteers and community partners, and we'd love for you to join us as we begin transforming the Crossland Avenue corridor!
🌱 Groundwork Day – Pageant Lane & Crossland Avenue

🌱 What We'll Be Doing
🧹 Clean up the landscape area
🌾 Mow existing vegetation as low as possible
📦 Lay cardboard to naturally suppress weeds naturally—no chemicals needed!
🌳 Spread mulch to prepare the beds for native trees and pollinator-friendly plants that will be installed this fall.

🍂 Rake
🪏 Shovel
🛞 Wheelbarrow (if you have one)
💧 Water bottle
📦 Cardboard Donations Needed!
We're collecting **plain brown cardboard** for this project.
Please:
✅ Remove all tape, labels, staples, and plastic.
✅ Use only plain, uncoated cardboard (no wax-coated or glossy boxes).
Every volunteer and every hour make a difference. Whether you can just drop off cardboard, stay for 30 minutes or the entire event, your help will make this community project a success.
