🕊️ The day after the concert “CHORNOBYL: A Song Never Silenced”,
we warmly invite you to a unique workshop on traditional Ukrainian singing, dedicated to the rare and profound vocal traditions of Chornobyl Polissia — a magical land of forests, rivers, wetlands, and quiet mysticism.
This is a living encounter with authentic folk songs that have survived despite catastrophe, displacement, and the disappearance of entire villages.
✨ What to expect:
- Archaic, expressive, and sonically powerful songs of Chornobyl Polissia
- Distinctive vocal techniques and sound production, specific to each village and local tradition
- Bright ritual, lyrical, and seasonal songs
-Developing an authentic style of singing, reflecting the unique character of each village, its origins, and song genres
- Stories, memories, and ritual practices from a land of water, mist, and ancient beliefs — a space of deep memory, where the voices of rusalky and ancestors still linger
✨ The workshop will be led by renowned Ukrainian folk singers, folklorists, and researchers of traditional music:

🌿 The workshop is open to:
- People of all ages, genders, backgrounds, and experience levels — from complete beginners to experienced singers.
- All songs will be taught orally, in the traditional way.
- No knowledge of the Ukrainian language or musical notation is required.
- Time will be devoted to listening, blending voices, and recreating authentic village sounds.

Щиро запрошуємо вас на унікальний майстер-клас з традиційного співу, присвячений рідкісній та глибинній співочій традиції Чорнобильського Полісся — магічного краю лісів, річок, боліт і тихої містики.
Це жива зустріч з автентичною народною піснею, що збереглася попри катастрофу, переселення та зникнення цілих сіл.
✨ На вас чекають:
- Архаїчні, проникливі й потужні за звучанням пісні Чорнобильського Полісся
- Самобутні способи звуковидобування та вокальні техніки, притаманні окремим локальним традиціям
- Яскраві обрядові, ліричні та календарні пісні
- Формування автентичної манери звучання з урахуванням особливостей кожного села, відповідно до походження та жанру пісні
- Історії, спогади й обрядові уявлення краю води, туману та давніх вірувань — простору глибинної памʼяті, де ще живе памʼять про русалок і голоси предків

- Людей будь-якого віку, статі, походження та рівня досвіду — як для початківців, так і для досвідчених співаків.

- Окремий час буде присвячено слуханню, злиттю голосів і відтворенню традиційного звучання.
