� Three Nights of Kava Tea & Somatic Awareness: A Return to Your Body
The word somatic comes from the Greek word soma — meaning body. Somatic awareness is simply the practice of coming back into your body. Not analyzing it. Not fixing it. Just listening to it.
We live in a world that rewards us for being in our heads. Somatic work gently invites us back down — into the breath, the belly, the felt sense of being alive.
This July, Eric of Your Essential Practice and Angela of Remedy Massage are opening a space for exactly that.
� At the Yurt — Monk Botanical Gardens, Wausau, WI

� 6:00 PM — 7:30 PM
✦ What you'll experience:
Each evening opens with Kava Tea — a sacred plant ally shared in community. Angela will welcome you and speak to the gifts of this plant medicine and what it offers as we gather together. If our group is small enough, we'll do introductions so you know who's in the circle with you.
From there, we establish ground rules and confidentiality — creating a safe container for real presence.
We begin with gentle movement — a shake, a sway, whatever your body calls for — followed by placing your hands on your heart and arriving into breath together as a community.
Eric will then guide the group through Somatic Awareness & Soft Belly Breathing — a foundational practice drawn from his advanced training through the Center for Mind Body Medicine (cmbm.org).
This is not a performance. There is nothing to do right or wrong.
Soft Belly Breathing works by activating the vagus nerve — the body's primary pathway for rest, restoration, and regulation. When we breathe slowly and intentionally, we signal the nervous system: You are safe. You are here. You can rest.
Heart rate slows. Blood pressure drops. Anxiety softens. The body begins to remember what it feels like to simply be.
✦ Authentic reflection in circle — no advice, no fixing, no performing. Just honest, witnessed presence.
This is not religious. It is not dogmatic. It is a space of deep honoring and open-hearted awareness — for the curious, the seekers, and those who simply know something needs to shift.
Come to one evening, two, or all three. Each night is its own complete experience.
