This is a beginner friendly float trip and campout for common adventurers on a Class I river. Dannelle Tomarchio, Kings River native will keep us organized as trip leader for the weekend.
Dannelle grew up on a farm on the Kings and has been floating it for 36 years. She is an experienced group leader, and a survivalist who loves to empower women and girls to be independent in sport and try new things.
In addition to being a 10-year Air Force vet, survival trainer, making an appearance Naked and Afraid, 25 years as a competitive softball coach, and Sylvotherapy practitioner, she is wonderful with beginner paddlers.
Private boats are welcome.
Day 1 "ROCKHOUSE"
(Rock House to Trigger Gap)
This trip takes approximately 5-6 hours, with a total distance of 7.7 miles. It is a beautiful float with many crystal clear deep holes for swimming. The Ozark Mountains, deciduous forests, and gravel beds surround you as you maneuver your way to Trigger Gap. When the water is up, there is a finale rapid "Trigger Gap" that boaters anticipate and have fun running through to finish the trip. A magnificent swimming hole awaits your arrival.
We will primitive camp with Trigger Gap overnight on Saturday.
Day 2 "THE FARM"
(Trigger Gap to The Farm)
The trip takes approximately 4 hours, with a total distance of 4.7 miles. It offers excellent fishing, swimming holes, and scenery.
Participants will need to bring their own food and drinks, plus any other essential items. There will be boat rental options from Trigger Gap available if needed. use the coupon code you reserve with your free tickets available to get the group discount.
We will be monitoring the weather and river levels leading up to the event. If the river is too high or even too low we will follow Trigger Gap Outfitters guidance.
