🔍 ABOUT THE TOUR

Lincoln Park is one of Chicago's oldest and most architecturally significant neighborhoods — a leafy lakeside enclave that became home to the city's merchants, industrialists, artists, and influential families during the Gilded Age.

This tour explores that legacy — from elegant Queen Anne and Romanesque mansions 🏰 to preserved rowhouse streetscapes 🧱 to the institutions that supported Chicago's working women and veterans 🏛️.

We'll visit grand homes, historic churches, preserved row houses, and hidden corners that reveal how Lincoln Park became one of Chicago's most storied neighborhoods.

📜 A BIT OF LINCOLN PARK HISTORY

Lincoln Park grew rapidly in the late 19th century as Chicago's elite — merchants, industrialists, and cultural figures — built grand homes along its tree-lined streets, developed in part by prominent builders like B.F. McConnell, George Beaumont, and Edwin Hill Clark.

The neighborhood's architecture spans Queen Anne, Romanesque, and Italianate styles, with historic institutions like the Eleanor Clubs and the Elks National Memorial reflecting the neighborhood's deep ties to civic and charitable life — supporting working women and veterans respectively.

This is a neighborhood where every block tells a different chapter of Chicago's Gilded Age story.
