Join us for a unique In-Person Chinese Calligraphy workshop and learn how to write artistic Chinese characters!
About this Event

This workshop introduces participants to the Chinese character “Fu” (福), meaning blessing, good fortune, and happiness, traditionally written and displayed during the New Year.

Participants will learn the cultural history of “Fu,” its symbolic meanings, and how it has been used in households and communities to express hopes for the coming year.

Through guided demonstration, participants will be introduced to basic Chinese calligraphy techniques, including brush handling, ink rhythm, and stroke order. They will then create their own “Fu” characters on red paper, writing personal blessings to take home.

No prior calligraphy experience is required. All materials are provided, and participants are welcome to work at their own pace.
