✨️🔥Ashtanga Foundations: A Journey into Primary Serie🔥✨️This 3-part series introduces participants to the fundamentals of Ashtanga yoga, perfect for beginners or anyone looking to deepen their understanding of this dynamic practice.
Over three Sundays, attendees will explore the Primary Series, focusing on postures, breath (ujjayi), and the meditative flow that makes Ashtanga unique.
Week 1: The Foundation – Breath, Drishti, and Sun Salutations
- Focus: Understanding the basics of Ashtanga, including ujjayi breath, drishti (gaze) and opening mantra.
- Practice: Guided practice of Sun Salutations (Surya Namaskara A & B).
- Discussion: The history and philosophy of Ashtanga yoga.

Week 2: Building Strength and Flexibility – Standing Poses.
- Focus: Mastering the foundational standing postures of the Primary Series.
- Practice: Detailed breakdown of the standing poses and different options to adapt your practice.
- Discussion:The importance of vinyasa (linking breath and movement) in Ashtanga.

Week 3: Flow and Integration – Seated Poses and Closing Sequence
- Focus: Introducing seated postures, the finishing sequence and closing mantra for a complete practice.
- Practice: Short flow combining what’s been learned, ending with the closing sequence
- Discussion: Tips for building a self-practice and integrating Ashtanga into daily life.
