✨ Fabulous Fairytales Camp
Runs all 5 weeks of the Zürich Summer Holidays (13th July - 14th August)
Step into a magical world of castles, forests, dragons, and spells in our Fabulous Fairytales Camp! Children will explore classic and modern fairytales through imaginative projects, creative techniques, and hands-on making. Each day is filled with storytelling, playful details, and enchanting art adventures.
MONDAY-WEDNESDAY - ENCHANTED FOREST
The first three days take us deep into a world of forest paths, hidden cottages, and magical characters:
🏡 Little Red Riding Hood Cottage – children will build their own woodland cottage diorama, adding trees, flowers, and charming details to bring their fairytale scene to life. Will the Big Bad Wolf be hiding nearby… or even tucked inside the cottage?
🧙♀️ Witch & Wizard Portraits – create bold, long-legged characters inspired by fairytale magic, complete with striped tights, flowing robes, and magical companions like cats or spiders.
🍄 Clay Dwarves with Personality – each child will sculpt their own dwarf character from clay, creating unique personalities inspired by the story, from sleepy and grumpy to cheerful and kind.
🪨 Story Stones – paint a collection of magical symbols, characters, and objects to use in creating original fairytale stories and games.
🧪 Fairytale Potion Bottles – design and fill your own shimmering potions using colourful liquids, glitter, and tiny treasures, complete with imaginative labels.
THURSDAY - FRIDAY - MAGICAL KINGDOMS
We end the week with bold and magical creations from enchanted kingdoms:
🐉 Design Your Own Dragon – children will build and decorate their own dragon using recycled materials such as shoeboxes, papier-mâché and plenty of florescent splatter, adding eyes, horns, scales and fiery personalities.
🏰 Build Your Own Fairytale Castle – each child will create their own castle using tubes and mixed materials such as coloured card, silver and gold foil and glitter foam. Could it be a fun glitter castle for a brave princess or perhaps a stone castle for a knight with battlements and flags? Using plenty of fun materials and embellishments children will add windows, doors (perhaps even a secret one!), winding paths, vines, flowers, magic mushrooms, and even a shimmering blue moat.
👕 Dragon T-Shirt Printing – design and print a dragon-themed t-shirt using fun techniques like bubble wrap and spotty sponge printing, creating a wearable piece of art to take home.
🎨 MATERIALS & TECHNIQUES
Children will explore a wide range of creative materials including paints (acrylic, gouache), clays, papier-mâché, cardboard construction, fabric, foil card, glitter, sequins, gems, and mixed media. Each day combines guided projects with opportunities for imaginative exploration and personal expression.
📚 STORY TIME AND ACTIVITIES
Story sessions will inspire and complement the week’s fairytale theme, featuring both classic tales such as `Little Red Riding Hood` and Helen Stephen`s beautifully illustrated `Hansel and Gretel` as well as modern retellings such as the hilarious `The Worst Princess` by Anna Kemp.
Alongside art and storytelling, children will enjoy themed games, music, mini-films, and outdoor time, bringing the fairytale world to life through play and creativity.
✍️CAMP DATES, TIMES & PRICES
The camp runs every week of the Zürich School Summer Holidays, 5 weeks from 13th July until 14th August. The summer camp will be led by our teachers Mady or Kortney with support from other teachers as required. Children are welcome to join multiple weeks! While the planned projects are repeated each week, there are plenty of opportunities to personalise creations and enjoy free-making time, ensuring each experience is unique.

2 days (Thursday - Friday) 250 CHF
5 days (Monday - Friday) 550 CHF
🕒 Times: 9am – 4pm
🍎 Snacks & drinks provided – children bring packed lunch
