About this Event

What you’ll do

Discover more about a display of trans+ related items and themes in Wellcome Collection at a talk with researcher Eliot Rose.

The showcase is part of a day of events exploring trans+ contributions in healthcare and social justice. Our programme of events, developed with members of the trans+ community, celebrates trans+ activism and culture, past and present.

About your speaker

Eliott Rose is a PhD student at the University of Manchester and recipient of the Queer and Trans Healthcare and Creativity Scholarship. His doctoral research examines trans activism within and inspired by the HIV/AIDS crisis from the 1980s to the present, with a focus on communities of care, kinship, and political organising. He is particularly interested in how archives can be reimagined to foreground trans experiences, knowledge, and forms of care. Prior to his PhD studies, he worked in healthcare policy, most recently at the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health.
