About this Event
“If we save the sea, we save our world”
Sir David Attenborough
In celebration of Sir David Attenborough’s 100 birthday, the Department of Zoology and the University Museum of Zoology are hosting a free screening of 'Ocean', the landmark documentary narrated by Sir David.
Described by Sir David as one of the most important films of his career, 'Ocean' explores the importance of the Earth's oceans and the threats they face. Since its release in May 2025, this feature-length documentary has raised global awareness of the urgent need to preserve our oceans. It has been a significant influence on moves to ban bottom trawling in Marine Protected Areas worldwide.
The screening will be introduced by Toby Nowlan, producer/director of 'Ocean'. Toby will discuss its making and impact.
Please note that Sir David Attenborough will not be present at this screening.
