About this Event

Join us at Christ Church Upper Library for the launch of this term’s Upper Library exhibition – ‘A glut of books’ Robert Burton and seventeenth-century libraries.

The exhibition celebrates Christ Church’s seventeenth-century collections and the Library’s recent acquisition of Robert Burton’s copy of Michael Scot’s Mensa Philosophica (1603), purchased with the generous support of the Friends of the Nations' Libraries.

This event will feature a brief talk by Dr Kathryn Murphy, Fellow and Tutor in English Literature at Oriel College, a preview of the exhibition and refreshments.

There is no charge for the event places are limited and offered on a first-come, first-served basis.

Date: Thursday 24 October 2024

Time: 5:30-7:30pm

Venue: Christ Church Upper Library

Travel: Parking is not available.

Accessibility: Please be aware that access to the Upper Library is by stairs only and there is no lift.
