SHAPING THE FUTURE OF LEADERSHIP
Join us in Calgary, Alberta, for our 5th Annual Leadership Conference. This will be gathering of citizens, academics, media professionals, policymakers, and representatives from civil society committed to strengthening democratic values through peaceful, respectful and substantive dialogue.
Taking place in the weeks surrounding the Alberta Sovereignty Referendum, this year’s conference will provide a unique platform for a citizen-led constitutional convention and an open discussion about the future of our institutions and communities.
A central theme of the conference will be the idea of a Congress of Citizens. This important framework will bring citizens together to re-imagine how we govern ourselves and develop practical, actionable solutions to the challenges of our time.
A FORUM FOR NEW IDEAS
We are bringing together voices from across North America and around the world to examine the challenges facing democracies and Western societies in a rapidly changing world. Participants will explore how individuals, families, and communities can develop greater resilience while preserving the principles, institutions and relationships that enable free societies to flourish.
Our goal is not to eliminate disagreement, but to create the conditions for meaningful disagreement without dehumanization. We believe that democratic societies are strengthened when people with different perspectives can meet, listen, challenge one another and search for common ground.
We seek to create a space where a broad spectrum of ideas, opinions, and political perspectives can be expressed and examined in an atmosphere of peaceful and respectful dialogue. By encouraging conversation rather than isolation, we hope to help heal polarization and rebuild the social bonds that allow diverse societies to thrive.
A BETTER WAY FORWARD
This gathering will be an opportunity to move beyond division and toward constructive engagement. By bringing together diverse perspectives and experiences, we hope to identify practical solutions, develop new relationships and contribute to a unifying story about where we go from here.
