About this Event
“ទឹកទន្លេ: Tuek Tonle" A Convening of Cambodian Traditional Artists
Join us for a special gathering of talented Cambodian traditional artists at the Olinder Community Center. Experience the beauty and richness of Cambodian culture through mesmerizing performances and interactive workshops. This event is a celebration of the vibrancy and continuity of the arts amidst conflict and displacement. A group of artists from Cambodia, France, and elsewhere in the US will converge in the Bay Area for this special showcase. Just as the waters of a lake (ទឺកទន្លេ, Tuek Tonle) come from many sources and then flow away in many directions leaving behind a verdant legacy, these Cambodian tradtional artists come from many different places to convene for an evening of celebration and joy. Don't miss this unique opportunity to celebrate and honor our cultural heritage!
These artists are convening for this evening workshop in order to offer an intimate expereince of Cambodian traditional arts leading up to Cambodia Day on September 28th, 2024. Join us for a vibrant celebration of heritage at the Inaugural Cambodia Day, music and culture festival presented by A Khmer Buddhist Foundation and Water Buffalo Pictures in partnership with Cafe Du Nord and Union Square Alliance. Taking place in San Francisco’s historic Union Square, this event unites the Khmer community to showcase Cambodia’s rich culture, arts, and music to a diverse local and international audience.
