VS Gallery ภูมิใจเสนอ Games People Play นิทรรศการศิลปะโดย ธีรวิช ภูผา จิตรกรผู้นำเสนอผลงานแนว surrealism ที่นำเกมตู้ (arcade video game) เป็นสัญลักษณ์หลักในการเล่าเรื่องเสียดสีประวัติศาสตร์ของสังคมไทยจากอดีตจนถึงปัจจุบัน โดยศิลปินเปรียบเปรยเกมตู้ ในฐานะเครื่องมือที่ให้รางวัลและลงโทษทางจิตวิทยา เพื่อกำหนดกติกาให้ผู้คนในสังคมปฏิบัติตาม ซึ่งสะท้อนการเรียนรู้ผ่านระบบการศึกษาและการปลูกฝังทางสังคม เพื่อชี้นำแนวโน้มความคิดต่อผู้คนในกลุ่มเพศ วัย และความเชื่อทางศาสนาและการเมืองหนึ่ง ให้ปฏิบัติต่อเพื่อนมนุษย์ฝ่ายตรงกันข้ามด้วยความรุนแรง โดยธีรวิช ภูผา ได้นำประสบการณ์ที่ผู้คนในสังคมไทยต่างมีร่วมกันมาขยายความในผลงานแนวเหนือจริงของเขา

2. Addiction & Corrosion โดย ธนภัทร เติมสินทวี
VS Gallery ภูมิใจเสนอ Addiction and Corrosion นิทรรศการศิลปะโดย กฤต ธนภัทร เติมสินทวี ศิลปินผู้ที่ใช้น้ำตาลและมดเป็นเครื่องมือในการเล่าเรื่องความเสพติดที่เกิดขึ้นในสังคมอันนำไปสู่ความเสื่อมสลาย ด้วยแรงบันดาลใจเบื้องต้นจากการมองน้ำตาลในฐานะสิ่งเสพติดถูกกฎหมาย ธนภัทรจึงปั้นขึ้นรูปน้ำตาลและนำมาต้มไล่ความชื้นจนแห้งด้วยเทคนิคเครื่องปั้นดินเผา ก่อนพ่นละอองน้ำบนบางส่วนของชิ้นประติมากรรม เพื่อออกคำสั่งฝูงมดที่เขาเลี้ยงให้ไปกัดกินส่วนนั้นให้เว้าแหว่ง เพื่อเปลี่ยนความหมายของผลงานให้ต่างจากเดิม
ผลงานแต่ละชิ้นใน Addiction and Corrosion จะพาผู้ชมไปสำรวจปรากฎการณ์ทางสังคมที่ขับเคลื่อนด้วยการเสพติดในรูปแบบต่างๆ และผลข้างเคียงที่ยังตกค้างและบั่นทอนสภาพชีวิตของผู้คนตามมา

VS Gallery invites all art lovers to join us for the opening day of two new exhibitions this Saturday, October 19th at 5:00 PM.
1. Games People Play by Theerawitch Poppa
VS Gallery proudly presents Games People Play, an art exhibition by Teerawitch Poppa, a surrealist artist who uses arcade video games as the main symbol to tell satirical stories about the history of Thai society from the past to the present. The artist compares arcade games as a tool that provides psychological rewards and punishments to set rules for people in society to follow, reflecting learning through the education system and social indoctrination to guide the thinking tendency of people in a certain gender, age group, and religious and political beliefs to treat their fellow human beings with violence. Teerawitch Poppa has used the experiences that people in Thai society share to expand on his surrealist works.
2. Addiction & Corrosion by Thanapat Termsintawee
VS Gallery proudly presents Addiction and Corrosion, an art exhibition by Krit Thanapat Temsintawee, an artist who uses sugar and ants as tools to tell stories about addiction in society that leads to deterioration. Inspired by the idea of sugar as a legal drug, Thanapat molded the sugar and boiled it to remove moisture using pottery techniques before spraying water mist on some parts of the sculpture to command the ants he raised to bite and carve on those parts to make them hollow, changing the meaning of the artwork from the original. Each piece in Addiction and Corrosion takes viewers on a journey to explore social phenomena driven by various forms of addiction and the side effects that linger and undermine people’s lives.
