In July, the vast grasslands of the Kori plateau come alive, transforming into a vibrant canvas carpeted with beautiful alpine wildflowers. Reaching a majestic maximum altitude of 3,800 meters (12,467 ft), this hike offers some of the most dramatic, up-close panoramic views of Mount Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), Annapurna South, and Lamjung Himal piercing through the summer clouds. It is a perfect, crowd-free journey combining pristine wilderness with authentic Gurung hospitality in the village of Sikles.
Brief Itinerary
Day 01: Kathmandu to Sikles Village - 10-12 hours Drive- 245km
We kick off early with a scenic tourist bus ride from Kathmandu to Pokhara. From Pokhara, we swap vehicles and hop into a rugged 4WD Jeep for a thrilling, bumpy offroad ride up to the beautiful traditional Gurung village of Sikles (1,980m).
Day 02: Scenic Hike from Sikles to Tasa : 5-6 Hours walking / 6.5 km
Our foot journey begins! We will complete a steady 5 to 6-hour hike, ascending through lush, moss-covered oak forests until we reach the quiet, high-altitude pastures of Tasa (2,400m).
Day 03: The Climb to Kori Dand: 6-7 Hours walking /7.5 km
Get ready for the big climb. We will tackle a 6 to 7-hour uphill walk through vibrant alpine meadows. The reward is unmatched: reaching the stunning Kori Danda ridge (3,800m) just in time for a crisp mountain sunset.
Day 04: Explore the Ridge & Return to Sikles: 8-10 hours walking - 16 km
Wake up to a massive wall of snow and ice right in front of you. We will spend the morning enjoying the panoramic mountain views and wild alpine flowers at Kori danda before embarking on a 6-hour descent back to the comforts of Sikles.
Day 05: Return Drive to Pokhara to Kathmandu : 10-12 hours Drive- 245km
Early morning after Breakfast take a Jeep ride to Pokhara and continue Bus ride to Kathmandu.
