Ô-Celli takes the emblematic themes of your favourite movies—from E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial to Harry Potter—and reimagines them for eight cellos.
The ensemble is made up of eight classically trained cellists from some of Europe’s leading orchestras. These include the Orchestre de Paris, the Opéra de Paris, and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra of Liège. Based in Brussels, Ô-Celli is driven by a simple idea: pleasure! The pleasure they share on stages across the world and the pleasure they see reflected in the audience’s eyes.
Critics have called Ô-Celli "magnificently unique," "a tour de force," and a performance of "unmatched nerve."
They take their classical precision and turn it toward the melodies that defined our childhoods. A remarkable tribute to the art of cinema.

This is a Pay What You Will performance. Here’s how it works:
– You still need a General Admission ticket. Book your seats in advance at tickets.theplayhouse.ca, by calling our box office at 458-8344, or visiting us at 686 Queen Street.
– At the performance, we will provide an envelope and ask audience members to pay whatever amount they wish following the performance, either in-person or online.

The objective of “Pay What You Will” is to increase access to our programs, and to encourage our patrons to take a chance on new and exciting performances.
