About this Event
Come by the Centennial Rose Garden for tres leches and a rich, friendly discussion about Latino representation in literature. Which characters have you felt seen by? What narratives have become cliche? What do you want to see from authors and publishers moving forward? As a Latina with a Master's in Publishing, I want to do my part to bring your voices into the conversation, both as an author and advocate.
We will be using my debut novel Francisca and the Forgotten (a YA Horror novel that explores themes of death, abuse, and mental health, best suited for readers 13 and up) as a starting point for a larger conversation. I welcome feedback, and I'm eager to know how I can best serve my community. If you haven't finished the book, you're still welcome to come, but beware of spoilers!
