Join us for LuminariaMania! as we craft paper lanterns known as Farolitos. New Mexico's traditional Christmas decoration is a cultural hallmark of the Pueblos and Hispanos of New Mexico and a part of the state's distinct heritage. Luminarias/ Farolitos are usually placed in rows along walls, roofs, and walkways to form a holiday display, especially on Christmas Eve. We will provide holiday themed decorative patterns to be cut into paper bags in the traditional brown, as well as other colors. LED votive candles will be provided in limited supply.
We will screen the movie Elf, a 2003 American Christmas comedy film directed by Jon Favreau starring Will Ferrell as Buddy the Elf, a human raised by Santa's elves, who learns about his origins and heads to New York City to meet his biological father. The movie is rated PG and runs 1 hour, 37 minutes.
